Location: Hybrid between home address and the Manchester office 3 days per week.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Testing to join our product team. As Head of Testing, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by conducting thorough testing and identifying defects. You'll provide subject matter expertise to the development team, providing guidance on testing best practices and overseeing test execution. You will define and track key metrics and design reusable automated test scripts. As Head of Testing, you will participate in product discussions and decision making that will help shape the future direction of the testing platform and services. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about delivering high-quality software solutions to our customers. As a fast-paced, dynamic company, we’re constantly evolving to stay ahead. Responsibilities

  • Test Planning and Strategy: Working closely with our product management team, developers and other stakeholders you will develop and implement comprehensive test plans, strategies, and methodologies to ensure thorough testing coverage and adherence to quality standards throughout the development lifecycle
  • Test Execution: Lead and participate in the execution of manual and automated tests, including functional, non-functional, regression, and performance testing to identify defects and ensure product quality meets customers expectations and clinical standards.
  • Defect Management:Manage the defect lifecycle, including defect identification, tracking, prioritisation, resolution, and reporting, collaborating closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Quality Metrics and Reporting: Establish and maintain key quality metrics and reporting mechanisms to identify root causes of quality issues, monitor testing progress, identify trends, and communicate testing results and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging industry best practices, tools, techniques and trends to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall quality of QA processes and practices
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and customer support, to understand requirements, identify risks, and ensure alignment on quality objectives and deliverables.
  • Other Duties:Perform any other reasonable duties as required to support team and company objectives.
     

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proven experience in quality assurance, with a focus on  delivering high-quality software products which include medical devices.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices, including manual and automated testing techniques.
  • Experience with test management tools and automated testing tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools
