Reports to: Head of Digital Transformation 

Location: Hybrid. Office based 3 days per week

The Role

To lead the Product Owners in gathering, documenting and prioritising business requirements. You will gather strategic requirements from the board via the product Strategy Director and work closely with the design and innovation team to ensure that their designs meet the requirements of the market and strategy and have sufficient detail to describe the development. You will also collaborate to ensure end-to-end product and development processes are created and adhered to, to execute delivery to a high standard and protect release processes. Staying at the forefront and having an understanding of market trends, customer needs, and technology advancements you will shape the product roadmap and achieve business objectives as well as gathering and documenting competitor analysis alongside the Product Owners to ensure our products are best of breed and when appropriate we use third party tools available elsewhere. Communicating product features and roadmaps with the Product Owners and wider business so that everyone understands our core products and vision. You will also be Responsible for driving the vision of Evergreen, strategy, and execution of our product portfolio. Contributing as a team member and product leader in cross-functional teams collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring the successful development and delivery of products the meet the business and strategic requirements.


Business level responsibilities – working with team members across the business:

  • Product Strategy: Transparently communicate the product strategy clearly and how it aligns with the overall business goals. You will be the owner of the documentation to describe business and strategic product requirements in a succinct, clear and current way.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a cross-functional product team of product owners
  • Market Positioning: Contributing to the development of marketing strategies, including product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans working with the product owners.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, marketing, and sales teams, to ensure alignment and successful product launches.

Product specific responsibilities – working within product function:

  • Roadmaps: Ensure a roadmap is defined at requirement level and is followed, managing a process for changes with the roadmap management team based on market research, customer feedback, and business priorities.
  • Product Roadmap: Collaborate with the team to create and maintain a product roadmap that outlines the planned features and enhancements over time that can be shared across the business for transparency in our product development.
  • Release Management: Planning and coordinating product releases with PMO and Development, including defining release scope, communicating with stakeholders, and managing the release process. Ensure that releases are signed off by the correct individuals and all clinical checks have been performed pre-release. Releases should be managed to a high standard and documented with user guidance and release notes.
  • Product research: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly analyse product performance to drive continuous improvement. Market research and comparison matrixes to understand industry trends and customer needs. Using feedback from users and customers to inform continuous improvements.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks with development, clinical safety and PMO in order to mitigate those that could impact the success of the product or put users at risk.

Skills and knowledge used as part of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and agile environment is a plus.
  • Attention to detail, prioritisation, and multitasking.
  • Ability to formulate and articulate a clear product strategy aligned with company goals and market demands.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, dealing with tight deadlines and multiple concurrent projects.

  • Experience in creating and maintaining product roadmaps.

Hybrid Working

The company focusses on delivery over location. This role will however need to have collaborative sessions in the central Manchester office. This is expected to be no more than 3 days per week but any home working will be with permission from your line manager.
